Usability and accessibility
A website that is easy to use. For everyone.
We help your customers find, understand and get in touch. On mobile and desktop.
Small obstacles. Missed enquiries.
Can your customer reach the finish?
A contact request can be abandoned for simple reasons.
A form that asks for too much
Before: unnecessary fields and unclear errors.
After: just the essentials, with instructions to correct each error.A difficult mobile menu
Before: hidden options and targets that are hard to tap.
After: clear labels and controls with room to tap.Hard-to-read text and hard-to-find focus
Before: low contrast and no indication of your position when navigating.
After: readable text and visible keyboard focus.
Illustrative examples of problems and solutions, rather than results from client projects.
Try the difference
The same enquiry. A simpler path.
Switch between examples. In the improved version, press Tab to see the focus and try an error message.
Before · illustrative representation
Too much for a first enquiry
A small button that is hard to tap.
Text with low contrast.
An error occurred. But where? And how do you fix it?
Visual representation: the fields above are not a form to fill in. Invisible focus can make it impossible to tell where you are when navigating with a keyboard.
After · try it with fictional details
A clear first step
Ask only for the information needed to start the conversation.
Use a fictional address, such as name@example.com. Nothing is sent or saved.
Larger controls, readable contrast, visible focus and a message explaining how to continue. This demonstration does not send enquiries.
We assess the path to getting in touch.
Usability is about understanding and completing a task. Accessibility enables people with disabilities to complete it too, including with assistive technologies.
Choose the tasks
Together we define the important journeys: finding a service, requesting a quote or completing a purchase.
Identify the obstacles
We combine automated tools and manual review: keyboard, focus, magnification and mobile use.
Prioritise and verify
We recommend what to fix first, then check the tasks again after the changes covered by the proposal.
Does the assessment include tests with real people?
When included in the contract, participant testing lets us observe difficulties during specific tasks. The proposal identifies the tasks, participants and sessions included. A technical review or automated score is not the same as a user test.
You receive an improvement plan.
The scope and price are agreed in the proposal before we start.
- Identified obstacles, with screenshots and steps to reproduce each problem.
- Priorities by severity and task impact, so you know where to start.
- Practical recommendations and estimated effort, to help plan the work.
- Verification after the agreed fixes, documenting what has been resolved and what remains.

- Problem
- The form clears the message when the email address is invalid.
- Priority and impact
- High: it forces the visitor to repeat the enquiry and may cause them to give up.
- Recommendation
- Keep the entered information and identify the invalid field, explaining how to correct it.
- Estimated effort
- Low in this example; the actual estimate depends on the platform and access to the code.
- Verification
- Submit again with an invalid email and confirm that the message is retained.
Fictional example of the report format. It is not an audit that has been carried out.

Figures reported for the 1000sites.pt homepage in October 2026. They are not measurements of this page or guarantees for other websites.
View reports, dates and limitations
AccessMonitor: result reported on 15/10/2026: 23 acceptable practices, five requiring manual verification and zero not acceptable.
WAVE: screenshot shared on 20/10/2026: zero errors, zero contrast errors and six redundant-link alerts. The execution date is not visible.
PageSpeed: 100 for accessibility on mobile and desktop, in screenshots shared on 10/10/2026. Results may vary between runs.
An automated score does not certify WCAG compliance or replace human review or testing with assistive technologies. We do not present these figures as participant test results.
Need an assessment against standards?
The proposal identifies the standards, versions and requirements to assess, along with the evidence to deliver. The framework depends on the organisation, service and project.

Our technical documentation brings together information about WCAG, EN 301 549 and public sector accessibility.
Before requesting a proposal
Am I requesting a free assessment?
This form requests a proposal. We clarify your goals and send the scope, price and terms. The assessment only begins after you accept the proposal.
Are the fixes included?
The proposal distinguishes assessment, implementation of fixes and follow-up verification. You can commission the assessment and decide later how to implement the recommendations.
Can you assess a website built by another company?
We can start with the publicly available journeys. To estimate or implement changes, we confirm the platform and required access with you.
How long does it take?
It depends on the number of pages, tasks and depth of assessment. The proposal states the timeline, including any participant sessions.
